What is the E-2 Treaty Investor Visa?
The E-2 is a US nonimmigrant visa that lets nationals of treaty countries live and work in the United States by investing a substantial amount in a US business, such as a franchise.
How much do I need to invest for an E-2 franchise?
There is no fixed legal minimum, but for franchise investments a substantial amount is typically $350,000 USD or more, depending on the brand and location.
Can my family come with me on an E-2 visa?
Yes. Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 can obtain dependent E-2 status, and your spouse can apply for work authorization.
How long does the E-2 visa last?
The E-2 is typically granted for up to 5 years and is renewable as long as the business remains operational and qualifying.
Which countries qualify for the E-2 visa?
Nationals of countries that hold a qualifying treaty of commerce with the United States are eligible. We confirm your eligibility during the first call.
